Blakk Hand
Blakk Hand formed in
October of 2002 in Goose Bay, Labrador and was quickly blown away with the
chemistry that the four members had between each other. Those four members
were Jamie Jackman, Matthew Barrett, Justin Waddleton and Jeffery Wall. The
music they would create would be a fusion of so many different influences
from all areas of the musical spectrum. From Pantera to The Exploited to Iron
Maiden to Queen, to Rush then back to the legendary blues artists such as
Muddy Waters and Eric Clapton. They
were
to be branded as Goose Bays very first heavy metal band. Blakk
Hand have a very rapidly growing following all around the province of Newfoundland
and Labrador of amazingly energetic fans that are the fuel and ambition that
keeps this metal machine rolling. They are the pioneers for youth bands in Goose
bay when it comes to pushing their band to the next level of playing outside
of their home town. In fact the summer of 2004 saw Blakk Hands very first independent
tour of the island siding up with local bands in those towns. After playing
in their hometown for two years and Labrador City they decided to give the Newfoundland
portion of the province a taste of Labradors heavier side. They rocked such
towns as Stephenville, Port Aux Basques, Corner Brook, St. Johns, and Carbonear.
Rocking bars, Legions, teen centers and festivals across the province has gained
Blakk Hand a great deal of experience in the field of entertainment with an
explosive live show that will leave you with your jaw dragging on the floor
for weeks.Blakk Hand has two demo CDs recorded that have been played on various
radio stations across the province. They have wrote and performed a song for
the "Let's Dance" Modern Dance Group. Members of the band have played
music for a local theatre group "The Mokami Players" in the musical
"Little Shop Of Horrors". They have participated in and won a number
of Battle of the Bands and other competitions. All the members of Blakk Hand
are actors, which certainly helps their live performance. All are part of choirs
and have performed classical and jazz numbers in big bands. They are certainly
a well-rounded group.Blakk Hand are a band with a burning passion for music
and will stop at nothing to see every one of there goals and dreams come true,
truly a band that loves to give it their all and will continue to give it their
all until Blakk Hand is a household name.
